The Type 99A's 125 mm smoothbore is China's own ZPT-98 of the same barrel family as the T-90M's. A GL-6 hard-kill APS and four-radar Type 99B variant appeared in 2024; the laser dazzler is a soft-kill measure to blind enemy optics/guidance.
