The AGM-88 HARM (and its AARGM-ER evolution) is an anti-radiation missile that homes on an air-defense radar's emissions and destroys it — the striking edge of SEAD that clears a path for the strike package.

HARM locks onto radar emissions to kill SAM illumination and search radars; the AARGM-ER adds a millimeter-wave seeker, GPS/INS and longer range to defeat radars that shut down or relocate. Its weakness is the counter-tactic: emission control (turning the radar off), decoy emitters and point-defense interceptors can blunt it. It is carried by F-16, F/A-18, EA-18G, F-35 and more.
